?FAQs
How do I calculate the original price from discounted price?
Original Price = Discounted Price ÷ (1 - Discount%). For example, if sale price is ₹800 at 20% off: Original = ₹800 ÷ 0.8 = ₹1000.
What is the difference between discount and markup?
Discount reduces selling price below original (used for sales/promotions). Markup increases cost price to set selling price (used for regular pricing).
How do I calculate successive discounts?
Apply them sequentially: Final = Original × (1 - D1%) × (1 - D2%). For example, 20% then 10% off ₹1000: ₹1000 × 0.8 × 0.9 = ₹720 (28% total, not 30%).
