GST Calculator
GST (Goods and Services Tax) can be calculated in two ways:
1. GST Exclusive (Add GST)
Used when GST is charged over and above the base price.
\text{GST Amount} = \text{Base Price} \times \frac{\text{Rate}}{100}
\text{Total} = \text{Base Price} + \text{GST Amount}
2. GST Inclusive (Remove GST)
Used to find the base price and GST component from a final price.
\text{Base Amount} = \text{Total Price} \times \frac{100}{100 + \text{Rate}}
\text{GST Amount} = \text{Total Price} - \text{Base Amount}
?FAQs
What are standard GST rates in India?
Common GST rates in India are 5% (essential goods), 12% (standard goods), 18% (standard services), and 28% (luxury goods).
What is Inclusive vs Exclusive?
Inclusive means the price already includes taxes (e.g., MRP). Exclusive means tax is added on top of the base price.
How is GST calculated from MRP?
For MRP (inclusive), use: GST Amount = MRP × (Rate ÷ (100 + Rate)). The base amount = MRP - GST Amount.
