Most banks allow opening RD with ₹100-1000 per month. Post office RD starts at ₹100/month.
Can I skip RD installment?
Generally, skipping RD installments attracts penalties and may even lead to account closure. Check with your bank for their specific rules.
RD vs SIP - which is better?
RD gives fixed guaranteed returns (6-7%). SIP in equity funds can give higher returns (10-12%) but with market risk. Choose based on your risk appetite.
Is TDS deducted on RD interest?
TDS is deducted if RD interest exceeds ₹40,000/year across all RDs in a bank. Form 15G/15H can be submitted to avoid TDS.
